This 996 is equipped with a coveted 3.6L flat-six turbocharged Mezger engine rated at approximately 415 horsepower and 415 foot-pounds of torque.  All four wheels are driven by way of a crisp 6-speed manual transmission making for a factory claimed 0-62 time of just 4.2 seconds.  The mufflers have been upgraded and a standard service was performed recently.  A pre-purchase inspection was performed prior to our purchase of the vehicle, which is available for inspection.

Originally developed for the 911 GT1 Le Mans car, the Mezger engine is regarded by many Porsche experts to be the ultimate water-cooled engine.  Featuring a true dry sump and crank driven oil pumps, this remarkable engine resists oil surge during aggressive cornering.  Additionally, this GT1 derived engine doesn’t suffer from IMS bearing related issues as its oil system ensures constant lubrication.

This Turbo was received with two sets of keys, original books and service records.  It was also accompanied by a clean Carfax report as well as a clear title.
