This example of a 964 era 911 was purchased from a Porsche Club of America member in Durham NC. This 964 was originally delivered new to Bay Ridge Car World of Brooklyn, NY, and generally spent time on the East Coast, before beginning its transformational journey to Germany.
It was purchased as a donor vehicle for a full bare metal restoration by GS Manufaktur of Gaggenau Germany which was completed and delivered in March, 2025.
The restored vehicle, known as “GS19” (as the 19th vehicle transformed by GS) retained its original 3.6 liter engine, which was enlarged 3.8 liters.
The re-manufacturing process at GS includes a bare metal dismantling of the donor vehicle, followed by the removal of all original paint. Every nut and bolt is either replaced with a new Porsche part, or restored to its original specifications prior to reassembly.
All body panels are replaced with carbon fiber panels that are engineered and manufactured in-house. The steel roof and doors are retained for strength and safety, as well as the rear deck lid, to enhance the function of the retractable integrated spoiler. The resulting vehicle weighs only 1,150 kilograms, or 2,535 pounds. This weight savings, combined with approximately 330 horsepower, makes for a very spirited driving experience.
The air-cooled flat-six engine in this 964 has been rebuilt to RS specifications with 3.8-liter pistons and cylinders as well as a custom dual-flap stainless-steel exhaust. Power is distributed to the rear wheels through an overhauled G50 5-speed manual gearbox with a single-mass flywheel. The suspension has been upgraded with Bilstein PSS10 coilovers and the stopping power has been improved with a 993 “Big Red” Brembo brake kit.
The interior is a combination of custom-designed brown, orange and green leather and alcantara. The radio has been upgraded to a Retrosound bluetooth-enabled system.
GS19 rides on a set of GSM Fuchs Classic wheels with custom fabricated “GS” center caps and wears an application of clear paint protection film over the full exterior.
